Lessons

•   Our mission is to improve the quantity and quality of ballroom dancing in the United States   •

Looking for dance lessons? You have many options:

At the USA Dance sponsored dances - every dance begins with two lessons. The first half-hour is a lesson suitable for complete beginners. The second half-hour is an intermediate lesson for more experienced dancers. The instructors routinely ask couples to switch partners as they practice. If you are uncomfortble with this, you don't need to do it. However, most people do, which means if you come alone, you will still have someone to practice dancing with. See our calendar on the home page for information on the next dance.

Community Education - Community Education offers you an inexpensive and fun way to learn a variety of dances. The schedule is always changing, so there is always something new to learn. Go to the Rochester Community Ed website, and search by keyword for the words ballroom, or dance to see a long listing of available offerings. We recommend the Night Club Two Step class that starts on January 10 (search for activity number 9052.121). You may register with a partner or by yourself. Many USA Dance members volunteer at these dances, so you will not be alone!
